From the Artist:
I continue to work with horses from a lifetime of fox hunting, racing, polo, Pony Club, eventing, driving, showing and back country endurance and trail riding. I also work with retrievers, hounds, field trial dogs, working terriers and beloved pets.
At this time I continue to explore the sensation that light stimulates in the organs of sight. To paint light is to never be bored. Light creates not only form, but life beyond form. Horses continue to be favorite light conductors from my palette. I've begun to see horses as canvas itself.
As of 2007, I have become a full-time, professional digital photographer, a masthead shooter for Horse Connection and contributor to Sidelines Magazines; featured in Rolling Stone, Aspen and Peak Magazines among others. I love to capture what is alive and moving! I have a great love of shooting the raw athleticism of rodeo and covered the Professional Bull Riders Finals in Las Vegas as well as the last two FEI World Cups, both for The Horse Connection Magazine. I have covered The Rolex **** in Kentucky and was an official photographer at The 2006 Winter Equestrian Festival and at this year's Cheyenne Frontier Days.I am riding and training 12 horses at this time and look forward to Cheyenne at the end of July and The Extreme Rodeo in Big Horn August 2. I will be shooting Sundays at Rosespur Polo and the games will be posted the following evening on my new event site.
2008 brought a top award from the Equine Ideal Spring 2008 Photo Contest, a Dover Catalog cover, and images prominent in USEF Equestrian Magazine, USDF Connection Magazine. Rodeo News, The Morning Line , Gulfstream Polo Magazine , The Chronicle of the Horse, Horse Connection and many more. My picture of Marcello Cruz was chosen for the 2008 Snowmass Rodeo poster and program cover. It was a great moment out of the chute!
2009 has kept me home in Old Snowmass ths past winter dealing with health issues, but continuing to ride indoors and out and shooting commissioned portraits as well as illustrating a children's book full of animals and once again the 2009 FEI World Cup in Las Vegas . I am rebuilding this new site as of today, May 1and stuff that has been up too long is coming down. Look for new images ! TO VIEW EVENTS' SITE GO TO -
